A Guide To Building Your Dream Home In Fuerteventura

You Dream It And We Build It For You

Some people are looking for that really special property that suits all their needs and just sometimes you might not always be happy with what is offered on the market, sometimes it’s the location, sometimes the design of the villa sometimes it’s the quality.

We want you to feel comfortable and not be scared to design your own dream property. GoldAcre Estates Design and Build Service will lead you through the whole process and will guarantee that nothing goes wrong from the first concepts to your final completion and moving in.

Step 1
Find the right location
The first and most important step is to choose your favourite location in Fuerteventura and of course there are considerations regarding the location such as your needs and use of the property, will it be just for your own use ? Will you want to rent out your property? Maybe you will want a property that fulfils each of these needs?
At GoldAcre Estates we will take our time to recommend to you your perfect area, respecting and understanding your budgets and the eventual use of your property, our professional team will then start by assisting you in finding that perfect plot.

Step 2
Design your villa
At GoldAcre Estates have been working together with German and Spanish Architects, licensed in Spain for over 12 years who speak English, German, Spanish and French. The architects really care for all your needs and ideas as a client and will not be happy until you the client gets exactly what you want. The architect will produce for you all the design work for your property, getting the licence through the town hall and will be present on site throughout the whole process of building your home. All material choices will be recommended by the architect and based around landscape and the climate. Building standards today in Spain and Canary Islands are identical to the standards of the northern European countries. All qualities have to follow the European norms ISO 9001.

Step 3
Building your villa
After receiving the licence from the town hall the real building process can start. A builder will be appointed with your approval that will be contracted for the whole build. We can recommend some exceptional builders that will guarantee the best standards of construction. Examples of existing builds can be viewed.
The complete process of building a turn key villa will take between 9 and 12 months including all the steps until being able to move in.
During the process of building the Architect and another technician (aparejador) will be observing every single step of the construction, all structural materials like concrete, blocks steel etc. will be tested by an institute as per Spanish law.

Project management
In case you cannot be here so frequently during the building process we can offer you a project management package to control the whole process and ensure you are confident everything is going well. Apart from quality control we will also control the economics and justify every purchase
We are 100% acting in your interest and will keep in contact with you to help you solve any problems that may occur.

Ready to move in
After the whole building process is realized the architect has to get you the official finalizacion document so you are allowed to move in (Final de Obra). With that document and all the licenses of the installers you are then ready to use the house with all the necessary supplies.

Furnishing your new home
When you come to the point of furnishing your new home, GoldAcre Estates Design and Build Service will still be by your side and can give you advice on interior design, materials and give recommendations on where to buy.

Design your garden
Your property will look much nicer even if you think about a minimum of exterior work. The complete garden surface can be covered with picon (a volcanic granulate) which makes the whole plot look nice and tidy. Into that surface you can plant as much as you want and we can offer advice on fantastic garden designs to suit your budget. To maintain a garden here is not the same as with gardens in northern countries, maintenance here is much easier.
We can also help with pool design and maintenance, tiling and creating patio areas, water features and even an area covered with artificial grass using trusted and renown companies that we recommend.

GoldAcre Estates Design and Build Service will be right by your side all the way from starting your search to walking through your front door offering an unmatched service that we believe is unique and comprehensive.

Tips To Improve Your Game From Las Playitas Golf Course Professional

Murdo McCorquodale is the Professional at Las Playitas Golf Course, close to Gran Tarajal on Fuerteventura and has supplied the following tip to help you improve your Game.

I thought I would touch on something to start that might surprise some of my fellow golfers out there; on the topic of golf equipment.
It’s a known fact that almost every club golfer and many pros use clubs that are not suited to their game. So much research has been done into the swing and into club technology yet the average handicap has remained almost exactly where it was in 1980.
Modern clubs are marketed with slogans like ‘Hit it longer than ever’, ‘biggest ever sweet spot’, ‘anti-slice’ etc and then they become illegal!!
The average 7 iron in 1980 had 38 degrees of loft but that would now be equivalent to an 8 iron in our bag today so it’s just trickery from the big brands to outdo one another in an aggressive market. Drivers have to be longer in length, have bigger heads and steeper face angles to hit the ball further – RUBBISH!! You would all (handicap 5 and above) benefit from a 12 or 13 degree driver with a 43 inch shaft if you would like straighter and longer shots.
Fairway woods nowadays have bigger heads and longer shafts which make ball control from tight fairways extremely complicated for Joe Punter.
Putters sold on shop shelves are also in general far too long for the job required, again short means control and on the greens we’re looking for the perfect stroke with a tool that must be just right for the job. Get club fitted to suit you.
On a positive note one of the greatest modern discoveries to golf has to be the rescue/hybrid club which everyone seems to have these days and now they are being produced at iron length which shows maybe at last the Big Brand names are seeing sense.

Focus On El Cotillo In The North Of Fuerteventura, Canary Islands

El Cotillo, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands.

El Cotillo is a small fishing village popular with Fuerteventura islandlanders and tourist that are “in the know”. The Canarian village is dedicated to the Virgin of Good Travel (Virgin de Buen Viaje) and her name is painted on the cliffs of the old harbour. To the north and south are stunning beaches with sheltered lagoons for swimming or open stretches ideal for the many surfers that visit here. The old harbour area has been rejuvenated lately with a new pedestrian walk that links with the narrow streets between the old properties.
The village is well known for the many fine restaurants which mostly specialise in fresh caught fish from the small fishing fleet that is moored in the new harbour to the south of the village. There are a few small supermarkets and fresh produce can be purchased at the many local shops. A new large supermarket is now open on the outskirts of the village, and a 144 room new hotel has just been completed. To the south of the village is the old fort, now used as a tourist office and art/historical centre, which was built to provide protection from invading British pirates. To the north a museum has been opened in the lighthouse at Punta Toston which concentrates on the village of El Cotillo and its connections with the sea and fishing.
The village has a laid back relaxed atmosphere so don’t expect the flashy, fast paced night life of other resorts on the island, though if this is what you occasionally need then the bustling large resort of Corralejo is just a 20 minute drive away and there is a regular bus connection between the two.
The beach to the south of the village is popular with surfers and if either skill or energy levels prevent you from riding the waves a walk along the cliff path above the beach is worth the effort to see tricks performed by a human on a board and for the view.
The pristine white beaches to the north are lined with sheltered lagoons ideal for children and swimmers. Further north still a track runs from the lighthouse to Corralejo, best attempted in a 4x4 vehicle, but another great walk.
In the evening pick yourself a restaurant with a view west, and with a glass of your favourite tipple sit back and enjoy the sunset and chill.....

The Tide Is Turning On Spanish Real Estate

Many reports today constantly berate property in Spain, slow markets, glut of empty Spanish Real Estate , poor economic conditions all the reasons why you should not buy Spanish real estate, not many people focus on the real opportunity that exists in the market in Spain today, also many times key areas of investment are missed such as the Canary Islands and Balearic’s as Spanish property seems to be grouped all under one banner ‘Spain’ with no definition regarding area and location, in an interview late in 2010 Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero told U.S. news channel CNBC that prices had hit bottom and were on their way back up and this certainly seems to be the case within some areas of the Spanish Real Estate market.
Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands is starting to see a resurgence in buyers, Managing Director John Goldacre of GoldAcre Estates, who’s Head Office is based in Corralejo in Fuerteventura stated that the Canary Islands seem to be pulling ahead of mainland Spain in terms of leaving the recession behind them, for us we had a very difficult 2008/2009 and in 2010 we started to see some serious light at the end of the tunnel, 2011 has opened very well for property in Fuerteventura and we are expecting steady growth throughout the year.

Of course there still remains some great bargains to be had in the Canary Islands Real Estate market and if someone is seriously considering purchasing a property in Fuerteventura then there will be no better time than now, with some two bedroom townhouse’s as low as 69,500 euros, Sea front three bedroom apartments from 169,500 and villas in 10,000 m2 plots for 180,000 euros.

Goldacre believes that throughout the year property prices are going to start once again strengthening, not by large amounts but he believes the market will start to see increases coming in as of course some of the cheaper opportunities disappear as they continue to be snapped up by buyers who are getting wise to the opportunities and understanding that the low prices that we have seen will not be around forever.

The Christmas period for GoldAcre Estates saw many new clients looking to buy in Fuerteventura, because of course now the number of flights have increased to the Island particularly with low cost airlines like Easy Jet and Ryan Air running direct European connections including flights to mainland Spain’ two main hubs Madrid and Barcelona and as well as a number of UK airports.
Fuerteventura has seen a lot of inward investment through the crisis which has included major extensions to Fuerteventura airport, producing a new arrivals terminal, extensions to the runway and departure lounge.

The Canary islands offer some of the best weather within a short flying distance to the whole of Northern Europe and many people have wanted to escape the recent freezing conditions and enjoy the all year round Sunny conditions of the Canary islands.

Known as the land of eternal spring the Canaries offer some of the best year round climatic conditions in Spain, offering the buyers of real estate the opportunity to maximise on their investment throughout the year, of course many investors have realised that with a drop in price comes an increase in their % return on investment (ROI) as the strong rental season in Fuerteventura ensures exceptional rental opportunites.

GoldAcre Estates is one of Fuerteventura's longest established Real Estate Agents serving both the national and international client base in Fuerteventura
