Cook Recipes for Crisis Times - MINCED MEAT CAKE

MINCED MEAT CAKE
(Cost 3,20€, serves 4)







Ingredients:
250 grs of minced meat
1 egg,1⁄2 garlic clove
1 medium onion, 80 grs. of bread
100 cc. of warm milk, 4 spoons of oil
1 spoon of flour, 1 Wine Glass of Water
100 cc. of white wine
1 Bay leaf, Nutmeg, Salt & Pepper.

Put half of the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion, just when the onions are beginning to brown take from the heat and separate half the onions and keep the other half in the frying pan.

Mix the warm milk with the bread.

In a big bowl we mix the garlic, the meat, the already fried onion, the parsley, the nutmeg and the bread drained of milk.
Once mixed we beat the egg and we add it. Mix everything very well. If we see that the mixture is very liquid we can add a bit of grated bread.

Smear an ovenproof dish with the rest of the oil. Wet your hands and form a roll with the mix and then place it into the oven dish.

With a knife we will do a 2 cms. deep longitudinal cut along the roll. Introduce it into the preheated oven to approximately 180 o for 40 or 45 minutes.

Let the cake rests before cutting it.

SAUCE
Fry for 2 more minutes the onion in the frying pan; add the flour, moving it with a wooden spoon. Add the cold water, bay leaf, wine, pepper and salt cooking it slow for 7 mins. Blend in a mixer and when smooth cover the meat with the sauce.
